Montepulciano, "La Perla del siglo XVI" y Pienza, un modelo de ciudad del Renacimiento italiano, se encuentran entre las ciudades de la Toscana, donde el Renacimiento alcanzó su máximo desarrollo. Los amantes del arte podrán profundizar su conocimiento de la historia del arte italiano a través de conferencias sobre la terminología especializada y camina entre las iglesias y edificios históricos.

    This course offers a captivating journey through Montepulciano’s rich artistic and historical heritage. Covering key periods from Ancient Rome to the Renaissance, it highlights the influence of major figures in local architecture such as Da Sangallo, Vignola, and Michelozzo. Blending art analysis, historical context, and cultural insight, the course creates a well-rounded and immersive learning experience. Sara’s lectures are both informative and engaging. I discovered Montepulciano by walking around and learning fascinating facts about its local art and history. She also provided thoughtfully selected reading materials that truly brought the content to life. I loved it a lot and will try to take another cultural course with Sara in the future

    The course combines theory (well structured summaries of the main features defining a certain period/art current + the relevant terminology in Italian) and practice (exploring the various treasures of Montepulciano, from Etruscan artefacts to baroque churches). The outdoors part is definitely the most interesting. Sara is very knowledgeable and can give a lot of context about the art works that can be found around every corner in Montepulciano. In my case, the heatwave at the end of July led to reducing this part to one day out of 5, but Sara has compensated, by offering lots of pointers on Siena, Pienza and other places I visited on my own. She also proposed detailed analyses of Italian masterpieces that can be found in Tuscan museums and recommended further reading materials. An enriching experience!
